‘Born this way’ refers to a narrative used by the mainstream LGBTQ community to advocate for political and social inclusion. It posits that queerness is an inherent, unalienable aspect of the self. More subversive subcommunities have adopted the competing ‘constructed identity’ narrative, which posits that the queer identity is the result of the overlapping influence of the political, cultural, and social sphere.

The Spurs model sources their funding through infrastructure e.g. ticket sales, sponsorships, merchandise. They prioritise building long term infrastructure e.g. a new stadium, training grounds, scouting networks, whilst deprioritising players. 
The Manchester City model has their owners inject a lot of their own money into the club. They buy players for high transfer fees and pay high wages. Whilst deprioritising investment into infrastructure.
